My Ship Has Sailed Opens in Dallas with Laura Ainsworth
Dallas - Fresh from a showcase at the Dallas Comedy Festival, singer/comedian Laura Ainsworth, who's been called a cross between Julie Andrews and "Weird Al" Yankovich, brings her critically-acclaimed show, "My Ship Has Sailed," to the Pocket Sandwich Theater in Dallas on Wed. Aug. 3. "My Ship..." dubbed "a potential cult phenomenon" by the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram, combines great music, from Madonna to Puccini, with Laura's monologues and hilarious parody lyrics lampooning extreme makeovers, Botox and all the other weird ways women (and men!) fight "the last big culturally-acceptable bias: looking over 30." It's both a great date show and the ultimate "girls' night out." PST is at 5400 E. Mockingbird in Dallas, across from Mockingbird Station. $12 cover. Doors open at 6:15, show starts at 7:30. For reservations, call 214-821-1860. For info and Laura's humorous weblog on age, beauty and fashion news, see http://www.lauraainsworth.com
