NY Underground Comedy Festival 2007 Dates Announced
(NEW YORK CITY) Feb.28, 2007 - The 2007 New York Underground Comedy Festival (www.nycundergroundcomedy.com) will take place September 28th through October 7th in all five New York boroughs; Melbourne, Australia; Europe and China (at the only comedy club in the nation of 1.4 billion people). For the first time in the festival's five-year history, the entire world will be able to watch NYUCF comedy shows via real-time updates on New Media Comedy's (www.newmediacomedy.com ) website.

"No hype aside, what we're doing this year is unprecedented," said Executive Producer / Founder George Sarris. "We're giving our comedians a world stage and we're giving the world the gift of laughter for all to enjoy. We are the people's comedy festival."

Produced by Sarris Productions, the 2007 festival will feature over 500 comedy related events from stand up comedy showcases to writing / comedy workshops. Over 600 professional and rising star comedians worldwide will partake in the largest comedy exhibition in the history of New York.

The NYUCF returns to the heart of Manhattan with its home base at the Sage Theatre in Times Square. Regional festival venues include: The Comic Strip Live, Gotham Comedy Club, The Stress Factory (NJ), The Laugh Lounge, and many others to be announced in the coming weeks. Aside from the major comedy clubs, people will be able to see festival shows their local libraries, hospitals, and even homeless shelters.

Previous festival headers have included: Freddie Roman (Dean of the Friar's Club), Jim Gaffigan (NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien), Judy Gold (HBO & Comedy Central), Rick Overton (Emmy Award Winning Head Writer For HBO's "The Dennis Miller Show"), Dom Irrera (NBC's Seinfeld), Colin Quinn (NBC's Saturday Night Live ), Bill Burr (HBO), Nick DiPaolo (92.3 Free FM & Comedy Central), Rob Bartlett (WFAN's aImus in the Morning"), Bonne McFarlane (NBC's "Last Comic Standing"), Jim Norton (NBC's Tonight Show with Jay Leno), Rich Vos (NBC's "Last Comic Standing"), and Eddie Brill (CBS's "Late Show with David Letterman"), and hottest rising superstars of stand up comedy.

Tickets prices vary pending on the shows. The NYUCF will also be raising money for several worthy charities. Non-profit beneficiaries will be announced in the coming months.
