Encore Comedy Club in St Louis
St. Louis (November 10, 2006) - St. Louis has officially arrived on the improv comedy map with other major cities like Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City. ENCORE! Comedy Club and DJ Lounge has chosen St. Louis' own historic Union Station as the home of its new 5000 Sq. Ft. Comedy Theater/Nightclub, which bring fast-paced "Whose Line" style comedy to delighted audiences, and provides late night live DJ entertainment to music and dance lovers.

An exciting addition to St. Louis area night life options, ENCORE! Comedy Club in Union Station takes over the space formerly known as the Improv Theatre, a venue which helped to launch the careers of Bernie Mac and Cedric the Entertainer and is now being renovated under new ownership with a Grand Re-Opening set to take place on December 1, 2006.

Club owner John Larson is no stranger to improv. He has worked with the best in the business including award winning director Mike Nichols and Paul Sills, original director of Chicago's Second City. Larson comes to St. Louis direct from NYC, where he has entertained Barbara Striesand, Julie Andrews, Hillary Clinton, Prince, Jon Stewart, Darrel Hammond, Rudolph Giuliani, Paul Anka, Jasmine Guy, Jodi Foster, Patrick Swazy, the NY Giants, Jon Bon Jovi, and the Village People to name just a few. He cites "The St. Louis Vibe" as a factor in his decision to relocate to St. Louis.

In addition to hosting comedy shows, ENCORE! is also available for rental for social and corporate events. It accommodates groups up to 600. Visit ENCORE! at 1820 Market St., St. Louis, in Union Station next to the Hyatt. Doors open at 7pm and shows are held at 8pm, 9:15pm and 10:30 pm. Late night entertainment varies from Karaoke to Music Trivia Game Show to Live DJ. Tickets are $10 and are available in advance at http://www.ClubEncore.com or by calling 1-888-567-9665.
